Same car as yours, but my right height is probably lower, with the sport suspension it came with. Anyway, when I got the car, the previous owner had 215/55/16 on them, and there was a little rubbing in the left wheel well with turning to the right lock. It did not rub with bumps.
I think the best thing would be for you to measure the clearance between tire and wheel well with wheels turned fully each way, and that will give you an idea of how wide you can go. If you're looking for traction, I do agree with Noel that tire type may do more for you than tire width.
