I need help with possible crank shaft sensor failure. I have a 92 9000 turbo. I noticed it began taking longer crank time before engine would start. A few days later I sit in a store parking lot for an hour trying to get it to start. Listened for sound of fuel pump and it was running, finally it started and I drove it home. A few days later it will not start again and after a few attempts to start it, it back fires through the intake and blows a vaccum line connector out of the intake and leaves a small burnt place in the fire wall pad. The timing chain and igintion cartridge had both been replaced buy the previous owner and I drove it for two years about 5,000 miles with no sign of trouble until it recently began not wanting to start. Does this sound like the crank shaft position sensor? What else should I check? If this does sound like the crank shaft position sensor, can it be changed through the access panel in the passenger side inner wheel well? of how? Thank you.
