Last year I bought a 93 9000CSE. At the time I had no understanding of the TCS issues that plagued this particular year. It didn't take me long to realize that I was in over my head. I started posting my symptoms and immediately Dave started directing me toward a solution. After many emails back and forth my problem remained unsolved. Dave asked me where I lived. I live in the same state but probably 50 miles from his house. He asked if I would be around on Saturday and he would take a ride up to check things out. He arrived with his ISAT and went to work on my car pulling codes. The next thing I knew he was pulling parts from his car to try on my car. He installed the part on my car and it fired right up and purred like a kitten. He then set it up and ran a full calibration. When he was finished I nearly had to beg for him to even take gas money. That car has not had a problem since.
Fast forward to this year. In February I purchased another car. This car was advertised as a 94 9000CSE. It wasn't until after I bought it that I learned it was actually a 93. Equipped with the knowledge I had learned from Dave, I thought I could figure out the problem and correct it. I began posting my problems and Dave responded again. Once again he drove to my house with his ISAT in hand. After reading out the codes he cleared them. The car started right up and purred like a kitten. I was tickled pink but my joy would be short lived. About 5 days later I atempted to start the car and found I was back in Limp Home Mode and TCS was on. Dave returned again with the ISAT. We cleared the codes and all was well again. This time Dave instructed me in the use of the ISAT and left it with me for 3 weeks so I could try to work through this intermittent problem. That, I would say, is going way above and beyond. I have read many of his posts and I have seen him offer to troubleshoot and calibrate the cars of others who are lost with TCS issues. It is just his manner to want to help others. I know that are many TCS horror stories out there but I was fortunate enough to find a Saab Angel. Thanks Again, Dave!
