OT, but, something was litterally shredding the wiring and small tubings for the cooling/heating system, and the windshield washer systems on my daughters late model Suburban. Finally, after several days of this, they saw a mother bear bringing her 30lb cub who crawled up under the hood and went to work. We assume she was after the antifreeze. Even her 6'6" 275lb husband didn't want to chase a mommy bear at 2am. I suggested she put a pan with clorox under the car, they did, and when they spilled the bleach the bears were outta there.

I live in the woods and mouses are a constant problem, if you park the car inside try several different kind of traps in the garage, they just use the car as base and come and go at night. If outside set your traps under the hood and reset every day. Those steel box like traps can be left around the cars in the daytime, birds won't be able to get them. I have put bleach soaked rags on the heater inlet and then turned it on high and seen the little buggers flee from the heater outlets. Good luck.
