...1) always seek and destroy vacuum leaks, even if they look small.
2) Use carb cleaner to clean out the AMM and the throttle body and the idle control valve.
3) Always use high octane gas (at least 93) when you go for the test
4) Only go after you drive on 1/2 tank so the computer is used to the gas
5) Only go after the car has been driven for 1/2 hour and the engine is hot. Let the engine idle at the place while you are waiting for the test.
6) If all this fails, replace the catalytic converter and the O2 sensor.
7) MAKE SURE THE AIR CLEANER IS NEW. (should be number 2)
