What year? I’m thinking it could be something related to the balance shafts. Your chain could have skipped a tooth or two, or the chain has completely come off. Remove the valve cover and look down into the area between the cam shafts sprockets. You can see the lower balance shaft gear and the chain.
I would be very careful about running the engine until you know for sure that the balance chain isn’t the issue; because if the balance chain is drawn into the timing chain, well let’s just say you don’t want that to happen.
