9000 V6 3.0 1995

I've checked out similar problems on the BB and tried the fixes but to no avail.

The radio has been making a "clunk" sound via the speakers and then going off. This happens with the radio or CD player. It may then spontaneously start up again before going off once more.

Radio lights are on but the display is dim. If I look at an angle, the siplay still shows the channel frequency and it changes if you push a pre-set station button.

I've taken apart, contact cleaned and re-seated the connectors at the back of the radio, the CD and the amp under the driver seat.

Any ideas what to try next?
