+ 1 on the SAS swaybars Posted by Rod [Email] (#3128) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rod) on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 09:04:19 In Reply to: I am very tempted by the SAS bars >, Bill Davies, Tue, 16 Sep 2008 07:29:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just installed mine a few weeks ago and it makes a tremendous difference (I have the Sachs sports chassis kit on my 95 CSE). I'd had a track day in July before I did the swaybars and another one in September afterwards, and it made a big difference. Not just in having less body roll, but it reduced the understeer if I didn't get a corner quite right. At my July outing (Mid-Ohio track), I had a few occasions where I would just plow straight on at a corner, but none of that in September. In my September outings it felt like all four wheels were working round the corners and everything just felt more balanced. The instructor, who drives a Lotus Elise, commented a couple of times on how well my 9k handled for s big car.
On the street it's mostly the lack of body roll that I notice. Actually, it's more when I take out my wife's 98 CSE that I notice how much body roll her car had (and that used to be the better handling vehicle, having the Aero suspension).
