My first Saab, still have it, 85 900T16 254k miles(American version)Currently with engine totally disasembly waiting on new.piston set, bought it in FL back in 89, loved it so much had it shipped to my home country Chile in 92. Ok here is my concern, my new-love is 98AutoCSE with anniversary packege (Yes 98..)currently with 150k KM (93kmiles).Water pump began showing signs of leakeage and radiator indication was comming on, so decided not to let it get any worst and in process of replacing the water-pump. Is this the begining of the end¡¡ Car had no maintenance records so I have reinstated its records (As best as I can), meaning did all fluids and filter replacement, serp.belt change and tensioner service, full tune-up issues done including original SAAB airfilter. Car is in mint condition interior suspension and exterior just small dents which I had them repair and profesionally painted. Cooling fluid during replacement, seen good quality coolant, and judging fron the houses and Water pump ducting, no regular water was ever used,, My concern "Day-shaaa-booo" my 900 first real maintenance issue was the water pump lekeage right around 100k Miles, follow by the ingnition module, follow by power-window mechanisn follow by gear-box follow by etc, etc, etc,, Question for all you 9K enthusias especially the ones that have had several ones should Should I spect the same rate of maintenance issues as on my Classic 900.? Know that the car is nearing 100k miles, Keep in mind that I am know 20 years older than when I got my hands on my 900 (Currently 40) so my driving habits have change, no more smoking tires or 100 miles per hour shift to forth and so forth...
Regards
Ganzo.
