A dielectric is something that keeps two electrically charged objects apart, so it's the same thing.
If you've got engine miss under boost, check these things
(1) Spark plug gap. Too wide, and it'll miss under boost. Regap to the low side of the range - typically a hair under 1 mm/0.040 inches. While you're at it, wipe the ceramic body of the spark plug with some alcohol. Dust, grease, and moisture can build up on the body, giving the electricity a path to ground. The dielectric/anti-arc grease helps, but clean helps, too.
If that fixes things, great, if not-
Inside the DI boot is a spring. It touches connects the top of the spark plug to the bottom of the coil in the DI.
(2) Inspect the tops of the spark plugs, where the springs touch. If you see signs of arcing on the top of the plug, the spring is making poor contact. Any gap between the spring and the plug is almost the same as having too wide a spark plug gap.
(3) Flip the DI over, and remove the plastic cover. It's held on with about 8 screws. When it comes off, look at the coils - there will be a metal plate on each. If you see signs of arcing on the metal plates, the springs aren't making good contact. CAREFULLY stretch the spring out a little so it'll make better contact. While you're in there, look for any signs of burning on the potted electronics board. Hold the DI up to a bright light so you can see the level of the oil in the coils. They should be about 90% full. If you see oil leaking out of a coil, or one or more coils is low on oil, you'll need to replace the DI.
