1993 9000 CS, as far as I know the Clarion stereo system is completely stock (everything says Saab on it).

Since I bought the car about a year ago, the front right speaker doesn't work, and the front left will stop working after going over a bump, and will sometimes start again if I go over another bump. I have:

1. removed and tested LH and RH speaker for continuity- OK
2. disconnected wiring clip at radio and tested for continuity in wires between radio and LH/RH speakers- OK
3. swapped "non-functioning" speaker with "semi-functioning" speaker to test, verified that speaker works, but then it immediately stopped working when I shifted the radio that I was holding in my hand. I tried tapping the connector, near the speaker and shaking the radio to see if it would restart and got nothing.

I then removed the electronic part of the backside of the DIN tray to see if I could get a continuity check from the speaker connector to the radio interface: all 4 front speaker wires ring out on one terminal to the radio interface. I was expecting the 4 wires to have 4 different terminals, but I guess the left/right balance is handled outside the radio by the circuitry in the back of the DIN slot.

So, my question is, is there anything else I can check before confirming that the problem is definitively the radio, and not some wiring issue? When I attempt to use the left/right balance knob on the radio, the left speaker will fade to nothing, but there is no corresponding volume increase in the right; I can fade front to back with out a problem- as long as the one front speaker is working.
