I replaced the following myself about 6 months ago:
Pass side Tie-rod end
Driver side front control arm bushing
both rear control arm bushings
both sway bar ends and all front sway bar rubber bushings
both ball joints
I'm getting a clunking noise when I hit large bumps, especially when I back out of my garage in the morning. I have about a 3 foot high slope from the garage down to the driveway.
I got new tires about a month ago, and the car started consistently pulling to the right as soon as they went on.
Took it to my usually reliable Saab indy last week to get an alignment and check out the clunk issue, and they said both ball joints were bad and that "the rubber was gone", which I knew was BS because I replaced them myself 6 months ago. Double checked when I got home, and the rubber on both ball joints is intact. I haven't jacked up the car yet though.
I didn't move the pass-side tie-rod locator nut when I replaced that tie-rod, so I wouldn't think that would cause the alignment issue, unless the new tie-rod was longer than the old one. Didn't measure, but I ordered everything from eeuroparts.
What should I check when I pull the wheels off this weekend?
