Hello there... not right.. to my experience.. a while back I reported 15-25 mpg mix driving 40%city/60%highway, just after replacing my spark plugs with 4 electrode ones (Aperantely not recomendable, running just fine after 20K MILES), Long story short, asumming all tune up issues ok filters, injectors, hoses vac. etc. all in good running order, check spark plug gap, mi plugs were regap. I whent from 15-25 to very decent 17-30 using 95 octane on my 98auto CSE with 101 K miles in it.I must admit most of the time I drive very slow on the city specially on take off as not to stress my perfectly working autotrany, but on the highway I drive about averega 70-75 mph. Do keep in mind that my plugs get check and regap every other oil change along with a extensive visual check to my dear DI cassete. My best MPG driving speed seem to be 71mph 18°c flat smooth road, 600 feet above sea level which were I do most of my driving.
Regards Ganzo
