I can't guarantee that a new one will fix your issue, but I went through the same scenario with my Audi (with a similar setup but not the exact same part). Right after cleaning the IAC, the idle was fine. A bit later the engine was dying at idle. A new IAC fixed the problem and it has been fine for several years since.
