I don't think compression is really the issue with shocks - they are dampers, not springs - also the Bilsteins are probably optimised for lowering springs. But softer springing with firm damping is quite a good way to go, if the dampers are not *too* firm (I've no experience of Bilsteins beyond what's been posted here in the past). Also, the Aero springs should be easier to dampen if they are a bit softer. Sounds worth a try, others may disagree.
