"I have a 93 Aero, it's like a drug."...AMG
In the words of Nancy Reagan......just say "NO" to '93's (particularly w/ TCS) :-)
Right now I have four 9000's in the driveway and I must be getting closer to divorce. '93 9000 CSE 5-spd, '94 9000 Aero 5-spd, '97 9000 CSE Auto and my latest acquisition....'97 9000 Aero 5-spd. I bought the '93 with hopes of driving it through the winter last year. No dice. TCS computer got wet along with a multitude of other problems. The car would not run but I only paid $275 for it. This car became the parts car for the '94 Aero as they had put $4000 into it before I bought it. Fools! Too bad '93 was a one-off model. I bought the '94 Aero to keep and drive but found I didn't like it much and it needed too much work to make it "mint". Clarion sound system doesn't compare to HK. I found a nice '97 Aero locally and begged my wife to let me buy it. She drives the '97 CSE. I need to get rid of the two older cars. Sell the Aero and part out the CSE. In my opinion, I would not plunk a lot of money into a '93 w/TCS. I consider $500 in parts a lot of money. I would cut my loses and find a newer model in nothing but very good conditon with good documentation. You'll have enough opportunity to spend money on one of those that you'll still feel like the car owes you something.
Good luck with the car if you decide to keep it.
Gregg
