You risk damaging the head bolts by using anything else and then you'll need a specialist to get them out then. In other words, it'll end up costing you a lot more. As AeroAndy mentioned, changing the head gasket is an involved procedure and could result in more work/damage if not done correctly. That said, there are others that have succesfully changed a head gasket with little prior wrenching experience. Get yourself a Hayne's Manual for the SAAB 9000 at the very least. Maybe there's a SAABer that lives near you that'll gladly lend a hand. Anyway, getting back on topic, you'll need the correct tool for the bolts. See link below for correct tool:
