Ran out of electricity last night Posted by Mike TX [Email] (#1409) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike TX) on Sat, 17 Oct 2009 07:42:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I started the '87 9000S (non-turbo) last night and noticed the battery warning light came on. As I drove the volts dropped from 11 to 10.5 to 10 and so on, until 7.5 which is when the engine stopped and I coasted to a parking space. Almost made it home.
For the past year or so, when the car is idling, the headlights and various dash gauges flicker. Not on and off, bit on and a bit dimmer.
So my questions are, it this just the voltage regulator, or alternator. How difficult is it to replace just the brushes? I'm fairly handy.
Thanks,
Mike
