Clutch Slipping Question Posted by Rod [Email] (#3128) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rod) on Mon, 11 Jan 2010 09:17:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Second question of the day. I noticed the clutch slipping a little on my wife's 98 9kCSE when I drove it the other day. This was only on full throttle acceleration in 2nd gear - in normal driving it's fine. Presumably there's a clutch job in my future, but my real question is what is the likelihood that the existing clutch will make it through the next 3-4 months, and what is the normal mode of failure (gradual vs. sudden)?
I want to leave it until the spring when my wife can drive her convertible so I can take my time with the clutch job, but i don't want to suddenly leave her stranded somewhere if it dies suddenly.
