('96 9000 Aero 5spd)
I've had the ABS light on for over a year now, and I've decided to get to the bottom of it. The ECU is known to be good. I measured the resistance of the sensors at the ECU connector - front two read good, rear two read bad. I then measured the resistance at the connectors under the rear seats - reading is bad there as well. I'm hoping to confirm there isn't anything else wrong in the system before I drop the rather large sum of money on two ABS wheel sensors. This is what my plan is:
-disconnect both rear sensors
-temporarily substitute 1.1k resistors for the sensors
-start up the car -> expected result would be ABS light to be out
-drive the car -> would expect the ABS light to turn on, because it's not actually getting a signal from the wheel sensors.
Will this be a valid test?
