Closer inspection of the orange connector revealed a shorting clip that breaks when the plug is inserted. Must be a safety device to prevent or reduce the possibility of the airbag discharging. Learn something new everyday!
I'm waiting for a lower steering shaft bearing (probably 10 days to 2 weeks). So, all the warnings about this bomb being stored, ready to explode at any minute, has made me a little apprehensive. Should I attach the clockspring for storage, or will it be OK resting in the back seat? Sugggestions?
Thanks guys,
K
