Great Info Jeff ! (Are there model/year variations ?) A procedure I've never seen posted here before - and a great idea too, if it is needed.
The only parts unfamiliar to me are the trim and console removal, it might be helpful to know more about fasteners and locations ?
(I hope it is OK if I jump in here with a few additional questions about the seat control system ?)
My car ('94 Aero) has a very puzzling driver's seat control problem - mostly it is 100% dead - but now and then it works for a minute or a day, then just quits again.
I went looking for the seat electronics and found nothing beneath the driver's seat - but did find some relays on a board under the pass. seat which was pretty easy to see from under the front of it.
I switched relays around - tried the key on/key off door open vs. closed
and no matter what, the pass. seat was OK and the driver's stayed dead.
My questions to add here:
1 - Is the memory seat controller the same for say - '93 forward, as far as it's location and the part itself ?
2 - Where is it hidden ?
3 - Is there only the relay board under the pass. seat for both seats in all the years with the memory seats ?
I would like to get this problem under control as I fear the 'frankenseat syndrome' which some have reported with the driver's seat doing crazy things for no reason at all, whenever...
Hopefully someone will be willing to help with this because it is a situation which could lead to a really hazardous condition.
Thanks !
