Assuming you have a LH 2.4 or 2.4.2 system, the fuse is in the panel behind the glove box, fuse #5 APC system, 10 Amp. Note! If the fuse is blown, there is a good chance a transistor in the APC ECU is shorted and a APC valve coil is or was shorted. Usual scenario is the valve coil shorts, causing the transistor to short, then blowing the fuse.
It is important the valve and transistor be checked for shorts before replacing the fuse. When a transistor is shorted, just replacing the fuse and valve will fail the replacement valve.
Check the resistance of the valve coils, should be ~3 Ohms. Any appreciable difference (0.3 Ohm) between the resistance of the coils or deviation from 3 Ohms is indication of a damaged coil. Measure from the center contact to each outer contact. Caution, there is 12VDC on the center contact with the ignition key in the run position.
Check the transistors by measuring the resistance between the engine block and the outer contacts in the APC valve connector. Be careful not to damage the contacts by inserting anything thicker than 0.03 inch between the 2 sides or fingers of the contact. The resistance should be nearly the same for each pin to ground. (On the T5 ECU, the resistance has to be greater than 500K Ohms for a good transistor.) A resistance of a few 100 Ohms or less is a short. The key is the resistance for each coil should be nearly the same, and greater than 500K.
Only after the integrity of coils and transistors are verified, should the fuse be installed.
