One of the cheap/crappy Autoparts/discount store Pink plastic Pumps works quite well at sucking out the fluid. One hose into the dipstick hole, outlet hose into an empty milk jug .
Mine is 15 years old and the silly thing is still working fine..I bought it as a one time use gizmo.. go figure.
I find GL4 75/85 gear oil to be v good trans lube, similar viscosity as 10/30 engine oil.
