'93 CDE hit today - insurance recovery experience?

My CDE got hit this morning while parked in the street. Fortunatly I was not in it at the time and no one got hurt. The damage to the Honda didn't look that bad, but the impace on my car was mainly into the wheel, so the suspension was mangled. The other wheel was against the curb so there was damage on both sides. Has to be totaled.
I only had liability, but she has collision under AAA. I'm told that they do not look at KBB, they have another company do research into other sales in the area. But there aren't any CDEs for sale around here, and very few 9000s at all. I assume they will then have to expand the search, but I think they will have a hard time finding any data on this model. I've heard of people getting less than what they think their car is worth in these situations without much recourse. I was told that you can dispute the settlement, but you need to have some supporting information as to the car's value.
Anyone suggestions? The car has some cosmetic issues - a few dents - but it has been running great. It just passed the emissions test well under the limits.
