Dear Saabers,
Recently I was lucky enough to come across a 96 aero in Imola red from the south with an excelent interior and absolutly zero rust for cheep money. The engine comparment is the most impresive as most of the bolts and bits still hold that gold plated apparence and the engine block still holds the paint behind the turbo. On my other 9ks this part of the block and just about everyting else in there has looked like a iron plank that was pulled from the TITANIC. The exterior will need to be repainted as the paint is looking a bit orange. A little rough around the edges but an excelent minimal involment project car.
On the other hand I also have in my garage the completed and painted shell in cherry rod red from an 88 c900tc. I stripped this car five years ago with the intension of converting it to a faux spg five speed but only got as far as stripping and painting it and had to abandon that project when my daughters where born. I do have all the parts but it was not untill recently that it looks like i might be able to finish this project but i could not pass up the purchase of the aero.
So my dilema is how do I justify owning three cars. I would hate to expose the rust free aero and the restored 900 to New England winters.
Here are my options:
A)drive my 97 accord with a remote starter during the winter moths and the aero the rest of the year. Also sell or never drive the convertable. I have never driven a 900 convertable but I think im at risk of falling in love with it when I complete it.
B)sell the accord and use the aero as my winter car and convertable the rest of the year. Oh no, poor aero!
C)Sell the aero....drive the accord in the winter and convertable the rest of the year.
Aldough I have a two car garage that only I use.... it would be having four cars with our mini van on our property.
All opinions and suggestions are appreciated.
