My '95 9000 starts just fine in any weather and we can have some pretty cold days up here (think 30 below zero) in northern Vermont. But it is garaged so it doesn't suffer the wind and driven snow that it would if parked outside.
But I did have very good luck with my 900 which was parked outside with an in line water heater on the lower radiator hose. These things are expensive to run. A 1500 watt heater is 15 hundred-watt light bulbs running all night(DUH), so I didn't keep it plugged in every night. But if I knew I needed to leave in the morning and knew it was gonna be cold that night, I could rely on this little heater.
I don't have that 900 any longer, but I use the same setup on my old truck. My mechanic tells me there is a block heater available but for some reason he doesn't like them. Maybe hard to install?
In any case, my 9000 fires right up as long as it has a good battery no matter what the weather.
