That's what the question was designed to answer. I see a number of fairly basic road cars with huge brake setups on the rear, and wondered why our cars have such dinky rears. The Acura TL, for example...a FWD vehicle with rear rotors nearly as large as the front.
It just seems like the rears don't do a whole lot. When stepping on the brakes on gravel, the front locks no problem, but the rear wheels keep rolling. My ABS is also not working at the moment, so I'm able to attempt full lockup and examine the results.
