I'd heard this was a bear of a job, but I found it to be one of the easier and quicker repairs I've done on a 9000, so I thought I'd share my experience in case it might help someone out in the future. Access is quite easy, with the removal of just a few components. This applies to a 94-98 body style, so it may differ for older models.
1. Loosen RF wheel bolts, jack up front of car, remove RF wheel.
2. Remove front half of inner wheel well (requires partial removal of wheel arch trim), RF air shield and centre air shield.
3. Remove the grill, the right turn signal, and the right headlight.
4. Drain coolant, then remove the coolant overflow tank along with the hose from it to the water pump.
5. Remove the auxiliary drive belt (if you have the special tool, this is very easy).
6. If a/c system is not already empty, empty it now. If it's still R134 in there, then you should capture it with a suitable recovery system. If it's one of the new substitutes (Duracool, etc) then supposedly it's non CFC depleting and not that big of a deal to release into the air; may still be illegal, but so is jaywalking. If you're going to release it, use gloves and eye protection in case you get sprayed a bit.
7. Remove the two lines going to the drier (19mm wrench). Disconnect the pressure switch, but leave it on the drier - it's easier to deal with it later.
8. Remove the two retaining nuts on the drier (10mm). A 1/4" drive ratchet will reach both of them, or a ratcheting box end wrench. IMPORTANT: Hold the bar that the nut is threaded on to with vise-grip pliers, otherwise it will rotate, and the other end is the mount for the washer fluid reservoir. If that happens, then it will leak and you've just created another repair for yourself - ask me how I know.
9. The drier should now come out via the headlight opening.
Re-installation is a reversal of the removal procedure.
