I learned the hard way that the upper bolt for the T-stat can get corroded because the bottom end is exposed. And when it's corroded it can break off and be a cast iron bitch to drill out. Spray the top and bottom ends of the bolt with PB Blaster, let it sit a bit, then carefully undo the bolt. Use the trick of loosening it a turn or so, tightening it back up, loosening, and tightening to get it off. Trust me that you don't want this bolt to break off.
Also, it's a bit awkward if you don't remove the throttle body but still very doable. It takes less time to work around the TB than it does to remove it (risking a broken bolt on the TB) than it does to do the t-stat on its own.
