Minor differences in the program config though. Accessed with T5 suite you can see that there are check boxes for auto or 5 speed or 234r (aero) engines. That differentiates their fitment, but is irrelevant once the pgm is accessed. Yup, just 'on screen' boxes to tick. Ecu pgms limit boost, 5spd one boost limits in 1st and 2nd whereas the Auto configuration limits boost in 1st range .. effectively the same result. Don't mess with lower gear boost limits :-) It's there for genuine reason.
Download T5suite from the ecu project site (free) buy a USB ecu interface ($45~) add a connector plug/pin setup to the ecu pcb (it's preplanned/made for this) then let the program's wizard do it's magic. Yes..it's as good as any tuner :-)
One can 'retune' Any T5.5 ECU pgm (no need to pay for an 'aero' one) to whatever stage, that your heart desires. Noting that there are hardware upgrade steps involved beyond stge 1
It's clever to not remap your original/oem ecu tho, for obvious reasons :-0)..however you will need to read it for retrieving the VSS code. IF you feel the need to retain the oem 'imobiliser' function.
Otherwise you can just turn it off in the 'new' ECU
A whole new world of Saab fun awaits .. G'luck.
