Guys, there is that hex screw in the caliper, that you access by taking the 14mm cap off. I finished replacing the parking brake cables, and adjust the screw on each side of the car. But, on the drivers side, the screw is obviously stripped because it just keeps turning. I don't know what metal these components are made out of. Can I replace the screw, or do I need to replace the caliper.
On a side note, someone (probably the mechanic who overtightened it in the first place) put a spring type thing in the hole where the stripped screw it. It looks kind of like a heli-coil, but its holding the screw in there so that the parking brake works somewhat on that side still.
And replacing the drivers side parking brake cable... really sucked. Only the passengers side was broken, but I decided to both sides just to be thorough. I had to drop the fuel tank, and that was after a couple hours of trying to get the cable in without doing that.
