Despite all their annoying faults they were V enjoyable cars to drive. Gong up through the gears was a thrill unto itself, going back down .. not so much (synchros :-) I bent the Valves in a bungled DIY Valve adjust.. Rebuilt the engine as direct result.
It went really well with fresh innards :-)
I Miss mine actually. Always had a soft spot for trying another one, but rust free examples are currently genuinely rare and possibly only 'fixed' for resale. Not an enticing scenario.
Always (still) lusted after the 60's Giulia Sprint, the 2 dr fastback glass one.
Well beyond my budget for a 'good' one these days though.
Had a lust for a 164 for a while, but invariably the ones I went to see, their interiors were ruined or close to it. So I never made a purchase, dunno if I dodged a bullet or not.
Ain't Nostalgia great!
