When my 1992 lost power brakes due to the pump failure, I replaced the motor part only. Car had more miles than yours maybe 240k so it seems as if the carbon brushes just wear out.
I would not recommend what I did because It is not designed to come out that way. That being said, replacing pump/motor as a unit is probably doable, and less work than master cyl with all the lines.
as mentioned, is the accumulator (round sphere, screws on top of system)good? The pedal jab test count is outlined on the board-too few jabs due to bad accumulator, and the pressure switch runs motor too often, wearing it out prematurely.
FWIW after a few months on replacement motor only, I had to replace failed pressure switch. Pump would never run. I had a spare on hand, very tough task as well.
On the 92's I believe ABS is tied in to the TCS even on standard trans cars so there are few to no options, but maybe on the 1991 an ABS delete is possible? Great classic, albeit unoriginal, SAAB- if you could do it!
