Car Remains Running Without Key In It Posted by Buckeye [Email] (#594) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Buckeye) on Tue, 24 Jul 2012 18:30:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
One of two posts regarding problems that have recently emerged (hopefully these things run in threes as I just had to replace the fuel pump). A few weeks ago, the ignition switch spring went bad. Got the replacement, easy fix, very happy. Today, I turned off the car, and it remained running. Removed the key, and still ran. A couple of experiments revealed that if I had my foot on the brake, it would continue to run, but once I removed my foot from the brake, it turned right off. Could it be a bad switch? Not having a good week. Thanks in advance.
