i rarely drive this car anymore, but it always starts and idles fine. the last time i drove it the car started to run rough when i took it around the block, but i got home, let it idle, revved it up past 3000 rpm and it smoothed out. let it idle again, and it stumbles a little when i press the accelerator but then it picks up, and smooths out as it passes 2000 rpms...
today the same thing. the car limped home running rough when i turned around after attempting an errand. (not trans, or tcs, it's a non-tcs car). i would describe it as stumbling... pressing on the gas made the car move, but very rough.
i got it home, and it was idling, but a little rough, i revved it up to 2000 rpm and it was rough, then i revved it up past 3000 rpms and it smoothed out fine. i did that a few times, and overall it seemed to improve a bit, but still had some rough spots at or around idle.
i'm wondering if this is a fuel related issue (i have never replaced the pump since i bought it in '04), a DI cassette issue, or something else. it's been so long since i've worked on this car, my memory has faded for troubleshooting, and can't seem to find a similar thread.
many thanks in advance, aaron
