A belt tensioner that self-destructs if you don't have a special tool to hang onto it once the belt is off? Bad desgin.
You have to remove a 19mm reverse threaded bolt (through the wheel well) to get the belt off (meaning it's unlikely that you'd be able to do this in a parking lot when stuck somewhere)? Bad design.
Then there's that !@#$#-ing little torx screw that holds that on there - BAD DESIGN.
Seriously, the tensioner on the NG900 is much better. Stick a 18 or 24 inch socket extension bar in there and pull FROM THE TOP, and slip the belt off. Much, much better.
I'll have to look at the NG 900 again and see if something like that can't be retrofitted to the 9k.
