My 1994 car (no TCS!) has two similar black connectors with the red slider behind the engine.
1. Four place connector with three wires connected to mating connector under the alternator. I believe that this may be for the oxygen sensor.
2. Two place connector with two wires connects to mating connector behind the starter, on a stamped metal bracket near the junction of engine and transmission. Not sure what this one is for.
