to the inspection station! The SRS wiring on 1994s (and maybe other years) have some connector pin junctions on the wires from the crash sensors that increase in resistance over time (probably accelerated by coolant leaking from a ruptured heater core!) which will be detected as a failure and cause the warning light to get set to "on". I've had the light reset a few times, but it comes back randomly and for no particular reason. SAAB knew about this issue and produced retrofit kit of a few wires joined to better (gold plated?) pin connectors, wanted a couple hundred bucks for it. As a former electrical engineer, I just couldn't cough up this much for $5 of parts - and that's being generous.
For your inspection, what if you just unscrewed the SRS light bulbs (two of them)? Do they test for functionality of the bulbs, or just ding you if the warning lights are on? I have yet to remove the dash cover on my car, but may need to as the bulb for half of the speedometer needs attention - currently responding to a firm bang on the dash, but I may need to go in there soon; when in there I plan to unscrew the SRS bubs.
