I thought mine were bone-rattlingly harsh when I put them in along with some lowering springs. I'm in Boston too, so I know the roads well. Fast forward a couple of thousand miles, and I don't really feel like they're THAT much firmer than my 9-3 Aero convertible with its stock suspension. I do feel like I have much better control when driving on the aforementioned terrible roads.
