I've used the cheapy one.. repeatedly.
Even the oem ones turn Rock hard/useless in a short time.
Replace these every couple of years.. they are disposable.
One thing I did run across on last upper chain rubber pad, was that the damned thing did not fit.
Eeuro supplied, although it was the very first wrong one.
The old one had to be broken up to remove, then I discovered the fit issue. Was Not Happy.
I was forced into spending over an hour carefully modifying the thing to adequately fit.
Cheaper valve cover gaskets have had No issues, it's just a rubber ring.
Make absolutely sure that the valve cover groove is spotlessly clean though.. it really does matter. Also use No goop on initial install.
