As far as I can remember there are No pilot bearings in 9000 setups as the trans input shaft does not extend into the flywheel.
Pilot bearings (when used) are as a support for a long input shaft.
Certainly none are used/fitted on the later 2.3 s.
Does your trans input shaft extend past the splines?
It would need to, to fit into a pilot bearing.
