Right after I started my post-job test drive, the car revved up to about 3k rpms and stuck there. I could feel a little slack in the accelerator pedal when this happened. I shut 'er down, hit the pedal and the problem went away and never came back after a couple miles of driving. What could I have done to my throttle body or TB cable to cause this? Should I spray some WD-40 around the cable area or something?
I didn't touch the cable or the TB at all really. I just popped off the 2 IAC hoses after popping off the big air inlet duct to the TB, cleaned the little valve with carb cleaner, and put it back together.
FWIW, this wasn't a bad job at all. It's tight and dirty but the hardest part was getting 18 year old hoses pried off. This is on a '95 CS. High idle is definitely fixed at least!
