The control box is under the dash, above where your left foot rests when driving. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes. You open the box and use a soldering iron and just heat up all the solder joints until the solder gets soft and re-hardens.
It's a pretty common problem for the controller to act up over time causing some weird central locking issues. I've noticed 5-speed cars don't normally vibrate as much and the controllers are more reliable.
