Yes I now remember having to pull that pin out to get the tensioner to engage. Duh. Maybe it is drilled incorrectly too high up on the body of the bolt allowing seepage. I have about 400 miles on the car. When I first started it up after a few days of drving i did notice the wet look of oil around the timing cover. Didn't seem like much so I concentrated on other leaks and nailed the coffin on those.
Will be interesting to see where the pin goes thru the bolt on a OEM tensioner. Bet its much further down the bolt instead of in the corner directly under the bolt face.
If this does not fix it I have no clue. Will prob have to go with dref's suggestion.
