After my 96 was hit, I used a tape measure, laser level, bubble angle finder, etc to get a rough idea of the damage. I went ahead and replaced the strut and control arm, adjusted the toe, and put on a door and fender from an 88. It drove well enough to get me back and forth 1000 miles to Summit Park WV for my son's lemons race. I later went to an alignment shop and although it was within spec he detected a slight bend in the steering knuckle. I replaced that and it lined up nicely.
I do think the unibody is bent because I can't get the door and fender to hang just right. At first I thought it was just the 88 parts, but I later got a nice door and fender from a 93 and same thing. That said I'm glad I fixed it.
