On my 97 9000 the relays were on the top side of the fuse block under the passenger airbag (the 97 did not have a glove box. IIRC, remove two or four philips head screws and pull the modesty panel out, two more screws hold the fuse box in place, pull those and the fuse block can be dropped, exposing all of the relays on top. The relay diagram was printed in white paint on the inside of the modesty panel, that will tell you which one to pull.
I believe any five bladed grey relay can work for the fuel pump. And for what it is worth, my fuel pump issues were resolved for a while by replacing the relay, but eventually the pump had to be done. I think a failing pump can stress a relay to the point of failure.
