Does the car have any rust that you know of? If you don't have the requisite 9000 rear strut mount issues, rot under the rockers or fender flares, and the body and interior are up to snuff, it might not be a bad car to keep on hand.
These are a dying breed, and judging by the prices for 99s, C900s, and other hard-to-find classics, this one could actually appreciate over the next few years.
That's really only true if it's in relatively unmolested condition, miles aren't too high, etc. But if in 3 years it's worth 5K, you've certainly offset your insurance costs. Give it a spin regularly, keep it clean, and see....
Or, plan to keep it, but try your luck at some ridiculous price. If someone pays your asking amount, cash in the bank and a happy new owner. Meanwhile you have cheap, fun backup wheels for when the Infiniti needs service.
I know. I shouldn't be encouraging collector-bubble 9000 sales strategies, since it makes these cars more expensive than we're accustomed to. But I think we're turning a corner where good examples are going to be worth a bit more to a willing buyer.
