Tighter may not be the answer.

If the sealing surfaces on underside of banjo bolt head, each face of banjo and on fuel rail are all unmarred, and if the bonded sealing washers, one each side of banjo fitting, are intact and still have even a minimum of flex to the rubber, it should seal against the pressure with a minimum of force.

I don't know the called-for value but it is well less than the yield point for the threads into the rail, on the bolt, or the shear strength of that (HOLLOW, remember) bolt. Just down to the end and then a little bit more snug should stop any leaks, a tiny bit more than that for peace of mind if you think it's going to loosen.

Since it's hollow, the bolt will take far less torque before breaking than a standard bolt of its diameter and thread, so go easy.

If you live near a junkyard or a friendly Saab indy drop by and pick up a few used bonded sealing washers off another car. Chances are they will seal just fine, and it's a quicker fix than waiting for delivery of new washers from one of our fine sponsors.

These things get removed and retightened all the time in shops, by owners checking for fuel pressure, etc., without replacement of the washers, and they almost always re-seal just fine.
