Just to confirm what other said, it's really the '91-92 cars that have the chain issue. It's the sprockets for the balance shaft chain the wear and eventually the chain will jump and take the main chain with it. The earlier 2.0 pre-balance shaft engines and the '93+ engines have chains that basically last the life of the car. Replacing the rubber guide under the valve cover is a good idea when replacing the valve cover gasket (which will leak eventually) and the older 2.0l cars with the 'flat' tensioner should have that upgraded.
